GFA Federal Credit Union Welcomes Mary Boodie as Branch Manager
 
Gardner, MA – GFA Federal Credit Union welcomes Mary Boodie as Branch Manager of Winchendon, located at 185 Central Street, Winchendon, MA 01475.
 
In her role, Ms. Boodie will assist members in achieving their financial goals through GFA’s financial suite of solutions designed for personal, business, insurance and investment needs. Her expertise includes business development, leadership of staff development, member service, retail operations and consumer lending.
 
“Mary’s expertise and member focus will truly deliver Better Banking to our membership,” said Kelli Mason, VP Sales and Service.
 
Ms. Boodie earned her bachelor degree in accounting and business administration, from the University of Phoenix. She also has a certification in financial accounting from the University of Phoenix.

GFA Appoints Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management
 
Gardner, MA – GFA Federal Credit Union has appointed Juliette Andoh to the position of Vice President, Enterprise Risk Management. Ms. Andoh brings more than a decade of investigation, compliance and audit experience to GFA Federal Credit Union.
As VP/ERM, Ms. Andoh will oversee audit programs, managing compliance and regulatory changes, vendor management and enterprise risk management. Prior to joining GFA, she has held positions as Senior Compliance Lead Auditor, Senior Anti-Money Laundering Investigator, and Compliance Officer. Ms. Andoh also moonlights as a Criminal Justice Adjunct Professor. Her expertise includes management of compliance, Bank Secrecy Act, risk assessment and regulatory procedures.
 
Ms. Andoh will be reporting to David Bojarczuk, Senior Vice President/Director of Corporate Finance. “Juliette is an excellent addition to the GFA management team,” remarked Bojarczuk. “Her proficiency will ensure the Credit Union continues to uphold the highest standards of safety, soundness and security, for our Members.” he added.
 
Ms. Andoh obtained her Master of Arts in Justice Studies and Investigations from the University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH. Ms. Andoh also graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Crime, Law and Justice in University Park, PA. She currently pursuing certification as a Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist.

GFA Federal Credit Union Appoints Employee Relations Officer
 
Gardner, MA –GFA Federal Credit Union appoints Amy Robbin to Employee Relations Officer. Ms. Robbin has management experience with employee recruitment, employee relations, compensation, benefits and performance management.

PARKS APPOINTED TO GFA SUPERVISORY COMMITTEE
 
The Board of Directors of GFA Federal Credit Union recently announced the appointment of JoAnne Parks to its Supervisory Committee. The Supervisory Committee consists of unpaid volunteers who serve to ensure GFA employs fiscal responsibility and sound internal controls. Ms. Parks will be joining committee members: James O. Garrison, Chair, Dr. Daniel M. Asquino, Elaine T. Fluet and Wendy Wiiks.
 
“We are delighted that JoAnne has agreed to serve as a member of our Supervisory Committee. She possesses the business acumen that is requisite for the responsibilities of this Committee” said Tina Sbrega, GFA President & Chief Executive Officer. The Supervisory Committee serves as the Credit Union’s Audit Committee, ensuring that the credit union remains in compliance with all applicable rules and regulations and that assets are safeguarded.
 
Ms. Parks is a resident of Winchendon, MA. She is the Operations Manager at M.H. Parks Company Incorporated. Ms. Parks is a graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
 
In addition her appointment to GFA’s Supervisory Committee, Ms. Parks serves on the Board of Trustees at Heywood Hospital; Finance Committee at the Clark Memorial YMCA and volunteers at Holy Rosary School.

Peterborough, NH – GFA Federal Credit Union welcomes back Lisa Hall as their Peterborough Branch Manager located at 1 Jaffrey Road, Peterborough, NH. Ms. Hall previously served as the branch manager of Monadnock Community Bank, who was acquired by GFA Federal Credit Union in December 2012.
 
Ms. Hall brings more than a decade of banking expertise to GFA Members. Her background is strong in community banking and community engagement. In her role, Ms. Hall will help members achieve their financial goals through GFA’s financial suite of solutions designed for personal, business, insurance and investment needs.

As Branch Manager, Ms. Hall is charged with building GFA’s membership, presence and participation in the Peterborough community. Already a member of the Peterborough community, Ms. Hall serves as Treasurer of The Place to Go – Kids Together, Member of Friends of Con-Val Athletics, Greenfield Oak Park Committee and the Peterborough Chamber of Commerce.
 
She is also affiliated with the Kiwanis Club of Peterborough, Contoocook Valley Board of Realtors Affiliates Group, and the Massachusetts Retirement Plans Consortium.
 
Ms. Hall completed Branch Management studies at the Massachusetts Bankers Association. Ms. Hall is also a graduate of Westbrook College, where she earned her degree in Computer Management.

Gardner, MA – GFA Federal Credit Union recently recruited Tammy Garcia as Branch Manager of their Pearson branch at 67 Pearson Boulevard, Gardner, MA 01440.
 
Ms. Garcia brings nearly twenty years of banking expertise to GFA Members. Her background is strong in community banking, Member service and civic engagement. In her role, Ms. Garcia will help members achieve their financial goals through GFA’s financial suite of solutions designed for personal, business, insurance and investment needs.

GFA President & CEO Tina M. Sbrega addresses GFA members at the Annual Meeting highlighting the success and growth of the Credit Union.
GFA HELD 75th ANNUAL MEETING
 
GFA Federal Credit Union recently held its 75th Annual Meeting at Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner and was attended by more than 120 GFA members. Veterans from the Montachusett Veteran’s Outreach Center were in attendance to present the American and Massachusetts flags and lead the group in the pledge of allegiance.
As a co-operative owned financial institution, the credit union’s annual meeting is open to all member-owners. GFA’s annual meeting serves as an opportunity for Members to participate in their credit union, elect Directors to serve a three-year term, and hear the State of the Credit Union.
The highlighted theme throughout the meeting was the success and growth of the credit union even throughout the challenging economy over the past five years. During this time period the credit union has continued to advance in the area of branching, technology, and growth.

 THREE ELECTED TO GFA’S BOARD OF DIRECTORS

 
At the recent annual meeting of GFA Federal Credit Union, three individuals were re-elected to the Board of Directors to serve three-year terms. The re-elected Directors include Charles P. Bowles, Douglas R. Delay, and Mark P. Hawke.
 
Charles P. Bowles is a member of the GFA Board of Directors. Prior to his retirement in 2008, Mr. Bowles was the Chief Executive Officer at GFA for 24 years. He is an active member of the Mount Wachusett Community College (MWCC) Foundation, and previously served as a Trustee of the College. He has also served on numerous other community Boards and was a member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of EasCorp, GFA’s corporate credit union. Mr. Bowles has been recognized for his community involvement as the Citizen of the Year by the Greater Gardner Chamber of Commerce in 1997 and the MWCC Foundation in 2004. He is a graduate of Western New England College. He completed graduate studies at WPI. He has served as a member of the GFA Board of Directors since1988.
  
Douglas R. Delay currently serves as the credit union’s Chief Governance Officer. Mr. Delay is the Purchasing Manager at Latrobe Specialty Steel Distribution, a division of Carpenter Technology Corporation. Mr. Delay is a graduate of Nichols College, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. He has served on the GFA Board since 2003. Prior to being elected to the Board of Directors, Mr. Delay served on the Supervisory Committee from 1988 to 2003. 
 
Mark P. Hawke, Mayor of Gardner, is a member of the GFA Board of Directors. In addition to his service to the City of Gardner, he also serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of Mount Wachusett Community College, is a member of the Board of Directors of Gardner Square Two, and an Incorporator of Heywood Hospital. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and an MBA from Anna Maria College.   Mr. Hawke has served on the GFA Board of Directors since 2012 and previously served on the Supervisory Committee since 2009.       
 
“Our three elected board members have the business acumen, knowledge, and commitment to GFA’s core values and to the members we represent,” said Tina M. Sbrega, GFA President & Chief Executive Officer.
As a co-operative, not for profit financial institution, GFA’s Board of Directors serve as representatives of the general Membership. Elected by the membership, they serve in a volunteer capacity and receive no remuneration for their service.

Sevigny Promoted to Branch Manager of GFA Ashburnham
 
Ashburnham, MA – GFA Federal Credit Union recently announced the promotion of Kelly Sevigny to the position of Branch Manager of the credit union’s Ashburnham full service branch. Kelly has worked at the Ashburnham location for more than six years, most recently serving as Assistant Branch Manager.
 
Ms. Sevigny has nearly a decade of banking experience. She has worked at GFA Federal Credit Union for seven years, having started as a Teller. Since joining GFA, she has continuously advanced her responsibilities and has been promoted from teller to Member Service Supervisor and Assistant Branch Manager. “We are delighted to once again provide recognition for exemplary service with this promotion to Branch Manager. Kelly is an experienced financial solutions provider and shares our mission of assisting members in achieving their financial goals,” said Kelli Mason, Vice President of Sales & Service.
 
As Branch Manager, Ms. Sevigny is charged with building GFA’s membership, presence and participation in the Ashburnham community. Kelly serves as a Director and Treasurer of the Ashburnham Lions Club.
 
“I am most excited that I can continue to serve our Ashburnham members,” noted Ms. Sevigny. “It is most rewarding to help a member purchase their first car, a new home, or rebuild their credit to achieve desired financial goals,” she added.
 
Edmund Perry, Assistant Vice President/Branch Manager has relocated from Ashburnham to GFA’s main office in Gardner, MA.
