BSA Analyst - Part-time

GFA is looking for a detailed oriented individual to join the risk team.

Operating within an established set of policies and procedures, the BSA Analyst is responsible for assisting with the Credit Union’s BSA/AML programs and all BSA/OFAC systems. This individual will assist with the overall risk and compliance programs, the internal audit program, and the daily review of management reports, as well as the other departmental duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Audit various reports to ensure transactions were properly authorized, reported and executed.
  • Responsible for the review of account activity pertaining to BSA/AML and fraud using the Verafin system, as well as other internal systems and reports. Investigate account transactions and recommend appropriate course of action.
  • Review and submit the timely filing of all CTRs. Also file all SARs as directed by manager.
  • Complete monthly reports for the Board of Directors.
  • Coordinate all FINCEN files as received from FINCEN. Upload the files to the Verafin system and review and resolve any matches to member accounts.
  • Review internal suspicious activity reports received from front-line staff and back-office departments.
  • Investigate and monitor suspicious activity and report findings to the VP/BSA/Compliance Officer.
  • Monitor OFAC matches on official check issues. Resolve all issues found.
  • Monitor the ongoing operation of the Verafin system using an established daily checklist.
  • Review all business risk assessment forms completed by the front-line staff through the use of the Identifi system. Investigate account information and follow up with the front-line related to any missing information. Assign a risk rating obtained through the Verafin system.
  • Review numerous daily management reports and complete numerous related procedures in accordance with established department policies and procedures.
  • Perform other risk related activities, including assistance with risk assessments as directed by manager.
  • Adhere and comply with Credit Union and regulatory agencies (i.e. NCUA, State, Federal) policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Model and promote the behaviors of the Credit Union’s core values, actively work to enhance the member and employee experience throughout the Credit Union.
  • Work with partner specialists to fulfill complex member financial needs.
  • Participate in the Credit Union’s Community/Civic Engagement Program which requires participation in one community event each calendar year.
  • Act as a role model for staff by completing tasks in a timely and accurate manner. Demonstrate a commitment to learning by cross training on other functions as required.
  • Participate, complete and attend mandatory training and/or online assignments for regulatory compliance.
  • Adhere and comply with Credit Union and regulatory agencies (i.e. NCUA, State, Federal) policies and procedures.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Verafin experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with three to five years’ experience in BSA/AML and Fraud, general banking, and compliance.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Organizational skills and the demonstrated ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Flexible and the ability to adapt to change
