Fraud Alert: Phone Spoofing Scam
Scammers Are Impersonating GFA
An incoming call may look like it’s from GFA when it actually isn’t. This is known as phone spoofing. We have received reports of individuals seeing “GFA FCU” and “GFA CRU” on their caller ID. Even if your caller ID appears to show GFA, use caution with unexpected calls.
If you receive an unexpected or suspicious call:
- Do not provide personal, account, card, or security information.
- Do not provide passwords, PINs, or verification codes.
- Hang up if you’re unsure whether the caller is legitimate.
- Contact GFA directly using a phone number you know and trust.
When in doubt, hang up and call us directly. Your security comes first, and we’ll never be upset if you’d rather hang up and call us back to make sure you’re really speaking with GFA.
