Downs Means Business at GFA
Gardner, MA – The newest addition to the GFA’s Business Development Department is John Downs. John has been appointed as Vice President/Business Development Officer As GFA’s Business Development Officer, John will be responsible for expanding our commercial services to include commercial loans, deposit services, and ancillary business services.
“John is an excellent addition to our team. A seasoned commercial lender, his broad knowledge of both business lending and banking make him a perfect fit for this position. John has already begun developing relationships with some of the community organizations in which we serve,” said Joan Moran, Senior Vice President Chief Lending Officer for GFA.

Mr. Downs brings over thirty years of banking experience to GFA. He was formerly Vice President of Commercial Lending for North Brookfield Savings Bank. He holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Management from Western New England College.
John is currently Chairman of the Real Estate Investment Committee of Wayfinders, Inc., an organization that provides housing and many other program services that serve low and moderate income individuals in the Greater Springfield area.
